You don’t need a car when stay in in our apartment.
Taxi
It’s about €45 from Faro airport, we can recommend some good local drivers who will pick you up and take you to the front gate.
Public transport from the airport
It can be down quite easily (and very cheaply) but you need to make sure that you can get the connections (see below).
Car hire
We always use Economy Car Hire because they’re great value, they don’t have an ‘excess fee’ and you can take the car to Spain for no extra charge. They use a small handful of local companies with names like ‘drive4fun’. But don’t be put off, they always have new model cars.
Airport buses Urbana 14, Urbana 16 run from near the train station to the beach (‘praia’) via the airport. These are run by Eva.
Here’s a very good link for buses and ferries which may be worth printing before you go. Be careful with bus timetables because they often have erratic exclusions. We will send you an information pack when you book which includes some basic Portuguese words and phrases which may come in handy!
